DESCRIPTION:
The Diver's Lodge, formerly known as Batu Kembar Resort, is operated by a Singaporean dive outfit called Friendly Waters Seasports. It is located facing the beautiful beach of Batu Kembar in the northern side of Pulau Aur.

To me, this is the best resort in term of facilities that is being offered. Arriving at the resort from the water channel separating Pulau Aur and Pulau Dayang, one can't help but to be impressed with the resort setting. A total of 18 chalets are perched staggeringly along the hill slope with fascinating view of the ocean. In short, all rooms come with a view which should make a pleasant holiday trip for everyone.

FACILITIES:
The resort can accommodate about 70 guests at one time based on twin- or quad-sharing. Each room comes with air-conditioner, comfortable beds, attached bathroom with hot shower, decent wall fitting, etc. Overall, I was very impressed with what the room has to offer.

There is one eating outlet at the resort, from which you can extend your meal time at the open-air terrace built above the crystal-clear water for a fabulous breakfast or lunch setting. The dive centre is also well-equipped although it is still necessary for you to specify your preferred equipment sizes so that the instructor can ensure everyone gets the suitable gears.

Electricity is supplied by both the island grid by Tenaga Nasional as well as back-up diesel generator. In general, the electricity supply is reliable considering the resort runs air conditioning units which can guzzle a lot of power.

ATTRACTIONS:
The beach of Batu Kembar fronting the resort is simply the best place to be for relaxing and frolicking under the sun. As an alternative, you can also walk to the nearby Teluk Ba'ai (where Atlantis Bay Resort is located) which also offers great beach experience.

The resort is also located along the main pathway of the Pulau Aur's island trail system which you can embark on a stroll for spectacular views of the ocean from higher up.

PRICING:
Since the resort is operated by a Singaporean dive outfit, rates are quoted in Singaporean Dollars (at the time of writing, the exchange rate is S$1 = RM2.27). All inclusive 3D2N dive package is priced at SGD330 per person or SGD230 for non-diver. In a typical package, a total of 6 dives will be arranged including a night dive.

Boat departures are not from Mersing. The weekend 3D2N package departs from the jetty at Tanjung Leman right before midnight and estimated to arrive at the Diver's Lodge at 0400hrs the next day. The first dive outing will commence before 1000hrs.

If you are not staying at the resort, you can also dive with the group from Friendly Waters Seasports. Upon advance booking, the rate is SGD45 per dive with full set of equipment. Walk-in dive request will be charged SGD60 subjected to the availability of dive equipment. You can also opt for a 3-dive package for a flat rate of SGD120 which seems like a good deal.
