Tenggol Island Beach Resort is located right in the middle of the beautiful shoreline of Teluk Air Tawar. The resort hosts a number of polished-timber chalets in semi-detached style in a great lush forest setting.
Boat journey from Kuala Dungun takes about 45 minutes on a speed boat or close to two hours on a slow fishing boat.
There are eight room units available at the resort. All rooms are equipped with either two or three single beds, fans as well as attached bathrooms with hot shower. The room is extremely basic but it is rather expected for a typical off-the-beaten track dive resort like this one.
Resort facilities include a restaurant overlooking the beautiful beach where daily meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. There is also a dive centre adjacent to the restaurant where daily diving trips can be arranged.
The resort is fronting the white sandy beach of Teluk Air Tawar, which I find to be extremely beautiful. There is a host of activities that can be done on the beach, such as snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing. Round-the-island snorkeling trips can also be arranged by the resort.
Pulau Tenggol hosts a great selection of dive sites. During my visit, I did two dive trips at Tokong Timur and Tanjung Api.
There are a number of packages offered by Tenggol Island Beach Resort such as 3D2N Diving Package for RM710 per person with 6 dives, 3D2N Free & Easy Package for RM360 per person, 2D1N Free & Easy Package for RM268 per person, Day Trip Package for RM130 per person inclusive of lunch, Scuba Diving Experience Package for RM650 per person inclusive of 2 dives and Open Water Course 3D2N Package for RM1,350 per person.
